Born in 1976, I lived in Bologna and Russi (my hometown in Italy) and occasionally in Brazil and Cuba, where I studied with Nene, Alexi Arce "Pututi I", Adel Rodriguez, Giba Conceicao among others. In Italy I've studied with various musicians, including the Berklee masterclass at Umbria Jazz '96. I'm living now @ Favela Chic, near Russi, where I record part of my things.

I've been playing and recording brazilian, world and pop music, with artists both in Italy and Brazil, some of them Ivete Souza, Nelson Machado, Patrizia Laquidara, Rogerio Tavares, Elio Camalle, Itapua, Yanez Servadei, Zeduardo Martins. I've been teaching drums for about 10 years and now I'm presenting a workshop titled "From percussions to the drumset in brazilian music".

In the last year I've been working in studio on two records by two upcoming Italy based bands, Jacare (www.jacare.eu) and Mr.Ze (Patricia de Assis-M.Zanotti-Steve Girotti with Toninho Horta, Arthur Maia, Ronaldo do Bandolim, Claudinho Andrade, Rogerio Bottermaio, Giba Conceicao, Giba Pinto). Be patient, both records are coming out soon! Besides, I'm playing pandeiro with Ginga do Mane, a "choro" quartet, and listening to Fela Kuti... cheers!
